Another month, another installment of our “Meet the NRPR #DREAMTEAM” series on the blog! Today, we’re introducing you to Nala Rodrigues, NRPR Group’s official PR dog and Head of Security! Though Nala’s a sweet Shiba Inu, don’t let her pretty face fool you: she’s as tough on squirrels as she is on her media targets! However, her first priority is to bring love and good morale to the office, while ensuring the team knows exactly when someone is at the door so important guests don’t go unannounced.
We love our sweet Nala and can’t wait for you to get to know her better.
Name: Nala Rodrigues
Position: NRPR Mascot and Head of Security
Date Drafted: March 2014
College: PetCo Obedience Training
Hometown: Beverly Hills
What’s your favorite treat? String Cheese
What fires you up? When I see my mom or someone from the NRPR family. I love racing over to them whenever I get to see them.
Pick one: head scratches or belly rubs? Definitely the belly rubs.
What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Loving, Protective, Sassy.
What’s your favorite part about working at NRPR Group? The best part is the love everyone at NRPR has for each other and for me. As soon as I walk in, I’m immediately greeted with petting and love. I give kisses in return and enjoy bringing the team happiness.
Tell us one of your proudest moments on the job: I’m proud of being able to warn my NRPR family every time there’s a new stranger that comes to the office. I bark and let them know, well before they even know someone is there. From food deliveries to meetings, I feel very proud that I can keep the team aware and safe at all times. No stranger danger when I’m around!
When you’re not guarding the halls of the NRPR HQ or giving out kisses, what can we find you doing? It may be a little embarrassing to admit, but other than that, I’m usually napping somewhere I can catch the sun. Clearly, I love being in LA. Naps in the sun are everything. It keeps me energized so I can guard and give love when needed.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to other dogs hoping to start a career in office security? Show strangers your teeth so they’re warned, but don’t bite. Biting is bad. Also, the more kisses and love you give the more treats you get. Since we don’t necessarily get paychecks as security dogs, I’ve found a way to earn more treats through love.
Isn’t she awesome? Once a rescue dog whose fate included euthanization, Nala is now happy and healthy with a full time job at NRPR. We’re very lucky to have her on our team!
