IMG_8351

Another month, another installment of our “Meet the NRPR Group #DREAMTEAM” feature on the blog! Today, we’re introducing you to… me! My name’s Cadie, and I’m NRPR Group’s Digital Marketing Manager, which means I get to rep NRPR Group all day, everyday, and make sure everything is on track for our home team. It’s been really fun getting to send out these questionnaires and learn more about each of my teammates. I’m excited to turn the tables now and share a little bit about myself!

Name: Cadie Carroll

Position: Digital Marketing Manager

Date Drafted: January 2016

College: THE University of Texas at Austin, HOOK ‘EM!

Hometown: Gibraltar, MI

How do you take your coffee?
Preferably, I take my French Vanilla creamer with a splash of coffee. However, I don’t discriminate and gladly welcome coffee in all of its flavorful forms.

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?
Thoughtful, diligent and definitely a philomath (I love learning).

What’s your favorite part about working at NRPR Group?
Do I have to choose just one? I did write the question… okay. My favorite part about working for NRPR Group is being in this unique position and getting to see so many facets of this company. I get to do a little bit of everything, and I absolutely love it. Coming in at the beginning of 2016 was a nice, fresh start to a new year, and it gave me the opportunity to get acclimated and up to speed with the NRPR Way, while also helping to create processes and structures within our internal functions. As digital marketing manager, I get to work on the day-to-day marketing initiatives for our company, but I also get to work on a lot of longer-term types of things. I love keeping our team up to date with everything we have in the works, and honestly, just getting to come into the office each day and support the company wherever I can is so fulfilling and rewarding.

Tell us one of your proudest moments on the job:
That would definitely be the launch of our video series, PRactical Guide to Publicity. This was a project Nicole (our Founder & CEO) was working on before I even joined the NRPR family. A few months in, she brought me up to speed and integrated me into the project, having me help with the production and promotion of the 11-part series. Nicole was trusting me with something that she had been wanting to do for years, and I knew it was very near and dear to her heart. The series is all about spreading knowledge and best practices to help other PR pros do their best work, as well as help those seeking PR agencies identify great talent. I was able to really understand and execute Nicole’s vision for the series, and the cherry on top was getting it featured on Bulldog Reporter, Spin Sucks, NutsPR, Rescue a CEO and more. What made this sundae even sweeter was that the series also won a Gold Hermes Creative Award, and it’s currently a finalist in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business competition. It’s been an amazing process, and truly the first time I stopped and said to myself, “Okay, Cadie, you’ve got this. And you’re rocking it.”

When you’re not drafting pitches, what can we find you doing?
If it’s during the week, either at the gym (my favorite way to unwind and just zone out), or binge watching Friends. I’ve seen it all the way through four times. I’m on my fifth go-round now and just finished season three. Ross and Rachel were totally on a break.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone hoping to start a career in marketing or PR?
Be ready to work hard. Plain and simple. This is not an easy job, and the majority of it is not glamorous. You’ll have early mornings, late nights, and you’ve got to be ready to put in the hours. PR is a service, so if you’re wanting to go into this industry, know that your clients are relying on you to get the job done. For marketing, you’ve got to be organized, always thinking of solutions, and ready to switch gears at a moment’s notice. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. No one knows all the answers, but we all know something. Share what you know, and be ready to learn what you don’t!

If you’ve made it all the way to the end, thanks for reading about me! It’s hard to believe that in a little over a month, I’ll be celebrating one year at NRPR Group. I really couldn’t be happier, and I have my amazing team here, led by our awesome coach, to thank for it all. LOVE YOU GUYS!
